This is how you measure:

Measure over bare skin or thin underwear.
The easiest way to measure is with a tape measure. Make sure the tape measure is straight.
If the measurements fall between the two measurements on the measurement chart, we recommend taking a smaller size as the products are strethcy.
Remember to check the measurements on the correct size chart, especially for unisex products.

The measurements on the size chart are body measurements, which you can compare to find the right size.
Our products are made to Finnish measurements, which means that they are generally a little looser than e.g. European sizes. If you are deciding between two sizes, a smaller size is probably sufficient if you prefer a more fitted look.
Silk wool is more elastic than wool or silk, so keep this in mind, especially when selecting adult silk wool garments.
The knit of our wool products will slightly shrink when first washed. This is taken into account in the sizing, which is slightly loose before the first wash.

Warm children's long-sleeved merino wool shirt

The shirt is made of an interlock knit, which is smooth on both sides. The shirt features flat seams for comfort and ribbed cuffs to make it easy to put on outerwear.

Merino wool is the best choice against the skin in the cooler seasons, as wool breathes, absorbs moisture and warms up even when wet, so it feels comfortable in all weather conditions. Choose a merino wool shirt and pants for your preferred base layer combination.

Made from 100% certified breathable organic merino wool. Pure wool keeps you warm even when damp. It neutralises odours and does not need to be washed often. Pure wool is also a fire-safe material.

Handmade in Artjärvi, Finland. No need to wash before use.

Wash and care instructions

No washing is required before first use
Wool softens in the first wash, which increases comfort of use especially on a sensitive skin
Wool neutralises odours, and often just airing is enough to clean
After regular use, the garment should be washed, as washing helps the wool fibres to recover and retain their elasticity
Our wool products are not treated with a moth repellent, so remember to protect the wool product from moths and beetles. When not in constant use, store wool products in a sealed plastic bag, e.g. in the product's original package
Wash by hand or by using the 30 Celsius degree hand or wool wash program using a biodegradable wool washing detergent
We recommend the Sonett wool and silk washing liquid for washing and Sonett gall soap for stain removal
Reshape the garment immediately after washing
Wool shrinks slightly in the first wash, which has been taken into account in the sizing of the products

Our certified and mulesing-free organic merino wool comes from Argentina and Uruguay
Certification ensures good treatment of animals, including nutrition, shelter and health care
Sheep graze freely, except for annual shearing, and professional shepherds are trained and supervised by local authorities
We use extra fine quality, 18.5 micron merino wool, which is non-itchy and comfortable on skin

Organic wool is knitted in Orivesi and Kangasala, Finland
The colours are achieved as safely as possible with reactive dyes, without chromium dyes and heavy metal salts
The product is handmade and packaged by Ruskovilla's own professionals in Artjärvi, Finland
The product is not finished with protective substances harmful to humans and nature
Surplus wool swatches are part of our ecological clothing production: light-coloured wool is carded into bedding fillings, while colourful wool is used for crafts supplies and for industrial purposes, such as oil absorbing mats
All our products are made with 100% renewable energy. We use renewable geothermal energy to heat our production, warehouse and shop premises

Ostin 1,5-vuotiaalle keskikokoiselle tytölle koossa 110cm paidan sekä housut. Resorit kääntämällä ovat jo nyt päivittäisessä käytössä sopivat ja käyttöikää toivon mukaan useampi vuosi per lapsi. Eivät liian paksut, tavalliset muut vaatteet sopivat päälle, mutta kovilla pakkasilla on ihana tietää, ettei lapselle tule ulkona kylmä tai sisällä tukala olo. Ulos päikkäreille ei tarvitse enää erikseen pukea välimerinohaalaria, koska näitä voi pitää ihoa vasten koko päivän.

Loistava laatu, nämä vaatteet lapsi pukee poikkeuksellisen mielellään päälle eikä koita riisua. Vaikuttaa viihtyvän kerrastossa hyvin erilaisissa lämpötiloissa. The sheep, who have for millennia lived in vastly different living and weather conditions, have taken care of product development process for us. Us humans can also benefit from the fact that wool keeps you warm in the cool climate and feels cool during warm weather. All this is thanks to the curly texture of the fiber.

Especially in winter, it is advisable to wear warm and breathable merino wool as a base layer next to the skin. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture, such as sweat or rain, without feeling wet. The surface of wool is naturally antibacterial, dirt-repellent, and neutralizes odors like sweat. Refreshing it only requires airing out, and it doesn't require frequent washing. Compared to synthetic fibers, wool is also a very fire-safe material – all important qualities when choosing clothes for an active lifestyle.

As we open the door and step inside the lower floor of the Old Dairy, the room is filled with a soft steady whir, paced by a faster buzz, click and then another buzz. Some twenty seamstresses are working. This is where the heart of Ruskovilla is.
