Our fleece is made of 100% wool
There is a clear difference between wool fleece and regular fleece: wool fleece is made from 100% organic merino wool, whereas traditional synthetic fleece is made from polyester. Because wool fleece is pure merino wool, it contains no microplastics.
Outdoor base layer – made for challenging conditions
The outdoor base layer is designed for demanding use. It features many carefully considered details, such as long sleeves with thumbholes, a high collar with a wind flap, and a double-knit in the knee and crotch areas.
Merino wool – nature's own high tech
Merino wool is great for layering. It helps regulate body temperature, breathes easily, and keeps you cool without making you sweat. Naturally odour-resistant and self-cleaning when aired out, it also offers inherent flame resistance – features that come in especially handy on longer trips or hikes. Plus, merino garments rarely need washing, and since they're made from natural fibres, they don’t shed microplastics.

As we open the door and step inside the lower floor of the Old Dairy, the room is filled with a soft steady whir, paced by a faster buzz, click and then another buzz. Some twenty seamstresses are working. This is where the heart of Ruskovilla is.
To guarantee high quality, we have never wanted to outsource our production, but have made it transparent. Our products are designed and manufactured in Finland with over 40 years of experience. As a sign of this, our products have been awarded the Finnish Key Flag label.
